I am a principal applied scientist at Microsoft, in the Office India Intelligence team. My research interests lie in the areas of machine learning and optimization. I am based in Hyderabad, India.

I previously worked as an applied scientist at Amazon, in the India Machine Learning team, headed by Rajeev Rastogi.

I completed my B.Tech in computer science from IIT Bombay in 2009. After a brief stint as a software engineer at Cisco, I returned to IIT Bombay as a grad student. I completed my Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. J. Saketha Nath. I then worked as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Matthias Hein at Saarland University.

The Office India Intelligence Team works on a diverse set of problems relating to the Microsoft Office workspace domain. Some of the recent products where we develop machine learning solutions include, but not limited to, Kaizala, Office Lens, Visio, and Information Protection for Office365. Our recent research works focus on generating multilingual embeddings, learning low-dimensional representations, and building geometry-aware deep learning frameworks, among others.
